User Training

Directorate of Library Services offers different user training depending on the market trends and needs on information.

Library Orientations

The main objective of the user orientation is to introduce the library facilities, resources, services, and library techniques to the users. The orientation program makes the users familiarize themselves with the resources and increases the use of the library. During the Library Orientation, Faculty are encouraged to bring their classes to the Library for a one-hour orientation. These sessions are conducted by faculty librarians and are designed to introduce students to the library's wealth of resources and to strengthen their research.

Information Literacy

Information Literacy (IL) teaches students to think critically and use the information for their academic, professional and personal lives – helping them define information needs, then locate, evaluate and use all available information resources effectively and responsibly. IL enables learners to master content and extend their investigations, become more self-directed and assume greater control over their learning. IL serves students, faculty, and staff by supporting the instructional mission of the Library and the University.
